The purpose of the Code is to help utility operators access transport corridors in a way that benefits you and the public. This means the Code aims to treat all utility operators fairly while maximising the benefits to you and the community. The Code also tries to minimise disruptions to roads, motorways, and railways caused by utility operators' work, keeping you safe at the same time. The Code wants to make sure that access to transport corridors is managed in the same way everywhere in the country. This helps to keep things consistent and fair for you and everyone else.
