"Paying a Fee to Help People in a Particular Industry"
This law lets the government make rules that require people to pay a fee on certain goods. You pay this fee, called a levy, to a group that represents the people who are paying the levy. The group uses the money from the levy to help the people it represents.
The government can make these rules, called Orders in Council, for goods like food or other products. When you buy these goods, you pay the levy, and the money goes to the group that represents the people who paid the levy.
The groups that get the levy money are like associations that speak up for the people who pay the levies. They use the money to help these people, and to represent their views and interests.
You can think of the levy like a special kind of charge that helps the people who pay it. The law is in place to make sure that the levies are fair and that the money is used to help the right people.
