The Speaker of the House of Representatives can ask the Commissioner to send staff to help select committees. You can think of select committees like groups of people who work together to make decisions. The Speaker can require staff who work under certain sections of the law, like section 11 or section 12, to help the committees. The Speaker can also ask people appointed under section 13 to help, but only if those people agree to it.
