If you are a serious violent or sexual offender, you may ask for a decision about financial help from a redress officer after you get a notice under section 16. You can ask a redress agency to send your application to the redress officer to decide if you should get financial help. You must agree to let the redress officer collect and look at certain information about you. You must give consent for the redress officer to collect information like sentencing notes, Parole Board decisions, and Corrections information to help them make a decision. The redress officer will use this information to decide if you should get financial help. You need to include this consent when you make your request.
