Infringement notices

14A: Entitlement to infringement fees

You could also call this:

"Who keeps the money when you pay a litter fine"

If you get an infringement notice from a Litter Control Officer, the territorial authority can keep the infringement fee you pay. This only happens if the Litter Control Officer who issued the notice was appointed by the territorial authority. The rule about keeping the infringement fee is part of the law, which was changed by the Litter Amendment Act 2006.
