If you are the spouse of a New Zealand citizen, there used to be a way for you to get citizenship. This rule was in section 8A of the Citizenship Act 1977. It was repealed, which means it was removed, on 21 April 2005, by section 7 of the Citizenship Amendment Act 2005.
