Illustration for Inquiries Act 2013

When you are part of an inquiry, you must write a final report. You do this according to the rules set out when the inquiry started. You then give this report to someone important. If your inquiry is public, you give the report to the Governor-General. If your inquiry is for the government, you give the report to the Minister who started the inquiry.

Your final report must include what you found out and what you think should happen next. You must write down your findings and any recommendations you have.

When you finish your report, it must be given to the House of Representatives if your inquiry is public. A Minister will do this as soon as possible after you finish your report.
