Illustration for Inquiries Act 2013

You can postpone or stop an inquiry for a little while if another investigation is happening or will happen soon. This other investigation must be about the same things as the inquiry. The inquiry must talk to the Minister first.

You can only postpone or stop the inquiry if it would interfere with the other investigation or affect someone involved in it. When it is safe to continue the inquiry without interfering, you must start it again. The inquiry will start again when it won't cause any problems for the other investigation or the people involved.
