Illustration for Financial Reporting Act 2013

The Board can give you guidance on reporting things that are not about money, like the things mentioned in section 17(2)(a)(i) to (iv). This guidance is to help you report these things in the best way possible. The guidance must not disagree with any financial reporting standards and must say that it is not binding.

The Board can give this guidance whether or not the government makes a special order under section 17(2). This does not limit what the Board can normally do. The guidance is to help with reporting on certain matters, and it is not a rule that you must follow.

You should know that the Board's guidance is not binding, and it must be consistent with financial reporting standards. The guidance is there to help you report things in a clear and transparent way, and it is not meant to be a strict rule.
