Partnership Law Act 2019

Relationship of partners to third persons and to each other - Relationship of partners to third persons

30: Notice to acting partner is notice to firm

You could also call this:

"Telling a partner something means you've told the whole business"

When someone gives a notice to a partner in a business, it's treated as if they've given that notice to the whole business. This happens when two things are true: first, the partner usually takes part in the business's activities, and second, the notice is about something that affects the business. However, if a partner tricks the business or helps someone else trick it, this rule doesn't apply. In that case, telling that partner something doesn't count as telling the whole business.
