6Power to purchase land, dwellings, etc, for State housing purposes
There may from time to time be purchased or taken on lease, out of money appropriated by Parliament for the purpose or (subject to any direction of the Minister) out of money received by Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities under subsection (1) of section 32, such land, dwellings, buildings, and chattels as may be required for State housing purposes.
Any lease which is taken as aforesaid may be for such term of years, at such rent, and on such terms and conditions as to payment of rent, renewals, compensation for improvements, purchase of outstanding interests of the lessor, and other matters, as may be determined by the Minister or by Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities subject to his direction.
