You will not be affected by this Act if you had something made before it started, like an Order in Council made under section 3 of the Civil List Act 1979. This Act does not change things that were already decided, such as how much money someone gets. You will still get the same amount of money until a new decision is made. You will keep getting your annuity at the same rate if the Remuneration Authority made a decision about it under section 4(1) of the Civil List Act 1979. This will keep happening until the Remuneration Authority makes a new decision under section 8 of this Act. The same applies if you are the spouse or partner of a former Governor-General and the Remuneration Authority made a decision about your annuity under section 4(2) of the Civil List Act 1979. You can still have agreements that were made before this Act started, like ones about privileges or benefits for a Governor-General when they are no longer in office. These agreements can include things like domestic air travel or the use of chauffeured cars. They are still valid even after this Act starts.
