Illustration for Ombudsmen Act 1975

The Chief Ombudsman can appoint staff to help them do their job. You will have a boss who is in charge of you if you work for the Ombudsmen. The Chief Ombudsman has to treat their staff fairly and be a good employer. If you work for the Ombudsmen, you are not considered to be working for the government for the purposes of the Public Service Act 2020 or the Government Superannuation Fund Act 1956. The Chief Ombudsman is in charge of the staff and makes decisions about them, except when this Act says otherwise.
