Illustration for Ombudsmen Act 1975

If you do certain things, you can commit an offence against this Act. You can be fined up to $200 if you are convicted. This can happen if you wilfully obstruct, hinder, or resist an Ombudsman or someone else who is doing their job under this Act without a good reason.

You can also commit an offence if you refuse or fail to do what an Ombudsman or someone else asks you to do under this Act, without a good reason. Making a false statement to an Ombudsman or someone else, or trying to mislead them, can also be an offence.

You commit an offence if you say you have authority under this Act when you do not, either directly or indirectly.
