The law says there are regulations that help you get access to information. You can find these regulations in a special part of the law called the Official Information Act 1982. The regulations are about how you can get information from the Information Authority.

Some changes were made to this part of the law, which you can read about in section 53(a)(ii). These changes happened on 1 July 1988. This means that the original regulations are no longer in effect from that date.
