When you have a needs assessment, Health New Zealand must give you a copy of the result as soon as possible. They must also give a copy to the provider who is currently giving you Long Term Residential care, if you have one. Health New Zealand must tell you about the maximum amount you might have to pay and who is responsible for paying for your care. They must also tell you how to apply for a means assessment, which is a way to work out how much you can afford to pay, you can find more information about this in the legislation.
