If you are a qualifying person and have been means assessed as to assets under section 34, you may apply for a loan under the residential care loan scheme. You can apply if your assets are above the applicable asset threshold and you meet the criteria for eligibility. The Director-General of Health will specify these criteria in a written notice.

The Director-General of Health gives notices that are secondary legislation, which means they have special publication requirements, as explained in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.

You should check the notice to see if you are eligible for the residential care loan scheme.
