Illustration for Takeovers Act 1993

The Takeovers Panel can give information or documents to the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) if they are related to the Panel's work. You can think of the Panel's work as the things they do to make sure companies follow the rules when taking over other companies. The Panel can share this information if they think it will help the FMA do their job. The FMA has its own set of rules to follow, which are outlined in the Financial Markets Authority Act 2011. The Panel can use information or documents given to them by the FMA under section 30 of the Financial Markets Authority Act 2011 to help them make decisions. This means the Panel can share information even if there's a contract or document that says they can't. Nothing in this rule affects the Privacy Act 2020.
