Overseas Investment Act 2005

Consent and conditions regime - Transitional provisions and amendments to other enactments - Transitional provisions

76: Repeal and revocations

You could also call this:

"Stopping old investment laws from being used anymore"

When you look at the law, you see that the Overseas Investment Act 1973 is being repealed. This means it is being cancelled and will not be used anymore. The Overseas Investment Regulations 1995 and the Overseas Investment Exemption Notice 2001 are also being revoked, which means they are being cancelled too.

You need to know what some of these words mean, like "repealed" and "revoked". When a law is repealed, it is cancelled and not used anymore. When something like a regulation is revoked, it is also cancelled.

The law is talking about the Overseas Investment Act 1973 and the Overseas Investment Regulations 1995, which are specific laws and rules in New Zealand.
