When you are in custody or on home detention for the purposes of section 54, you are not just considered to be in custody for the crime you are appealing. This is because you may have another sentence to serve after your current one, which was given under section 83 of the Sentencing Act 2002. You also need to have appealed against the conviction for the other sentence. You are not just considered to be on home detention for the crime you are appealing. This is because you may have another home detention sentence to serve after your current one, which was given under section 80B of the Sentencing Act 2002. You also need to have appealed against the conviction for the other sentence.
