Illustration for Disputes Tribunal Act 1988

You get paid if you are the Principal Disputes Referee or a Referee. The Remuneration Authority decides how much you get paid. You also get extra money for things like travel, which is sorted out by the Fees and Travelling Allowances Act 1951. The government can spend money on your pay without needing extra approval. The Fees and Travelling Allowances Act 1951 applies to you like you are on a statutory Board.
