Part 3Proceedings of Tribunal
Claims
24Lodging of claims
Proceedings are commenced by the applicant lodging a claim in a form approved by the chief executive after consultation with the Principal Disputes Referee, together with the prescribed fee (if any), with any office of the Tribunal.
The Tribunal or a Registrar may, subject to subsections (3) and (4), order that the hearing be held at the place nearest, or at any place near, to where the applicant resides or carries on business.
Where a claim is lodged with an office of the Tribunal, or transferred to that office under section 37, and the Tribunal is satisfied that the claim can be more conveniently or fairly heard in some other office of the Tribunal, the Tribunal may order that the proceedings be transferred to that other office.
Where a claim is lodged with an office of the Tribunal, or transferred to that office under section 37, a Registrar may, on the application of any party, if all the parties to the claim consent, order that the proceedings be transferred to another office of the Tribunal.
