The chief executive can set up a Registry for the Disputes Tribunal and choose someone to be in charge of it. You can think of the person in charge as the Disputes Tribunal Registrar. Their job is to make sure the Registry runs smoothly and give directions to the staff. The Disputes Tribunal Registrar can also have another job in the public service at the same time. Their main tasks are to keep the Registry organised and help the staff do their jobs consistently. The Ministry of Justice must provide the necessary resources and support for the Disputes Tribunal to work properly. The Disputes Tribunal Registrar's role is to oversee the Registry and its staff, which was established as part of the changes made by the Tribunals Powers and Procedures Legislation Act 2018. This helps the Disputes Tribunal to perform its functions. The Registry is an important part of the Disputes Tribunal system.
