If you have a permit or certificate under Part 1 of the Trade in Endangered Species Act, you must follow the conditions that come with it. The Director-General sets these conditions, and you must comply with them. If you do not comply, you are committing an offence.

If you commit this offence, you can be fined when you are convicted. As an individual, you can be fined up to $10,000. As a company, you can be fined up to $20,000.

You can find more information about the permits and certificates in Part 1 of the Act. The rules about fines are part of the law, and you must follow them. You can also look at the Criminal Procedure Act 2011 for more details about the fines.
