The Hauraki Gulf Forum has some main purposes. You can think of these as its main jobs. The Forum's jobs include managing the Hauraki Gulf's natural and historic resources in a way that is good for the environment and for people. The Forum also helps different groups work together on things that affect the Hauraki Gulf. It recognises the special connection that tangata whenua have with the Hauraki Gulf and its islands.
