6Treaty of Waitangi (Te Tiriti o Waitangi)

Subject to subsections (2) and (4), the provisions of Part 3 relating to the Park must be so interpreted and administered as to give effect to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi (Te Tiriti o Waitangi).
Subsection (1) does not apply in respect of any area of the Park that is foreshore, seabed, private land, taiapure-local fishery, or mataitai.
When carrying out its functions under Part 2, the Forum must have regard to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi (Te Tiriti o Waitangi).
Nothing in Part 1 or Part 3 or Part 4 limits, affects, or extends the obligations any person has in respect of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi (Te Tiriti o Waitangi) under any of the Acts listed in Schedule 1, and those obligations must be fulfilled in accordance with those Acts.
