This land must be in the Hauraki Gulf, its islands, or coastal area. The Minister must get consent from the owner and the administering body to include the land in the Park. The Minister can include land owned by a local authority if the local authority agrees. This includes regional parks, open spaces, or buildings that are managed to protect their natural or historic values. The Minister must put a notice in the Gazette to include the land in the Park.
