You can find out what land is removed from the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park. The Minister can remove land in private ownership from the Park by putting a notice in the Gazette. This land is specified in section 35. You can also find out about taiapure-local fisheries or mataitai reserves being removed. The Minister can remove these if they think being in the Park is not serving its purpose. The Minister makes this decision. The Minister must remove land, a taiapure-local fishery, or a mataitai reserve within 20 working days. This is after they get a notice from the person who agreed to include it in the Park. The Conservation Act 1987 defines working days.
