Trustees’ powers and indemnities - Powers of trustee - Special trust advisers

76: Remuneration of special trust advisers

You could also call this:

"How special trust advisers get paid for their work"

If you are a special trust adviser, you might get paid for your work. This can happen if the trustee is also getting paid. The amount of money you get as a special trust adviser depends on who the trustee is. If the trustee is the Māori Trustee, the amount is decided by regulations made under the Māori Trustee Act 1953.

If the trustee is Public Trust, the amount is decided by Public Trust's fees. If the trustee is a trustee company, the amount is decided according to the Trustee Companies Act 1967. In some cases, the trustee can decide how much you get paid, or the court can decide.

The court can decide how much you get paid if none of the other options apply. You can get paid as a special trust adviser in different ways, depending on the situation.
