The Governor-General can make regulations to help with the transition to the Trusts Act 2019. You can think of regulations like rules that help make the law work smoothly. The Governor-General makes these rules on the advice of the Minister. These regulations can provide extra help or replace some of the transitional rules already in the Act's Schedule 1.

The regulations can say that some parts of the Act do not apply for a little while, or that some words have special meanings during that time. They can also say that some old rules still apply, even though the Act has changed them. The regulations can help make sure the change to the new Act happens in an orderly way.

The Governor-General can only make these regulations for three years after the Act starts. These regulations are a type of secondary legislation, which you can learn more about in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
