If you are a trustee, you have a duty not to promise what you will do in the future. But there is an exception to this rule. You can make promises about what you will do in the future if it is for an Alternative Dispute Resolution settlement or an arbitration agreement, and any decision made by the arbitrators, as long as you are following the rules of the agreement.
