Local authority meetings

51A: Public notification of resolution at extraordinary meeting

You could also call this:

"Telling the public about decisions made at special council meetings"

Illustration for Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987

If you are part of a local authority, you must tell the public about any decisions made at a special meeting as soon as you can. You do not have to do this if the decision was made in a private part of the meeting or if you told the public about the meeting at least 5 working days before it happened. When you tell the public about the decision, you are talking about the main issue that the special meeting was called for, which is what you decided on.
