The Commissioner's job is to promote and advance the rights of children and young people. You can think of this as helping kids and teenagers know what they are allowed to do and what should happen to keep them safe. The Commissioner does this by raising awareness and understanding of children's rights, including the rights set out in the Children's Convention, and advocating for these rights to be used by the public and government agencies.
