You are looking at a part of the Juries Act 1981. This part is about changes to the law. The changes do not apply to people who were summoned before the changes started. You can find more information about these changes in the Juries (Age of Excusal) Amendment Act 2026. The law talks about a commencement date. This means the date when the Juries (Age of Excusal) Amendment Act 2026 comes into force. It also talks about a summons, which is an order to come to court. A summons can be issued under section 13(1) of this Act. It can also be a replacement summons referred to in section 14C(1)(c) or clause 19(4)(b) of Schedule 2 of this Act.
