This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Regulatory Standards Bill

Principles of responsible regulation and regulatory stewardship - Regulatory Standards Board - Membership

38: Minister must appoint members

You could also call this:

"Minister picks smart people to help make rules"

The bill says the regulatory standards Minister will choose who gets to be on the board. When the Minister picks someone, they will send that person a letter. The letter will say when the person starts their job and how long they will do it for.

After the Minister chooses someone, they have to tell everyone about it in a special newspaper called the Gazette. They will share the new person's name, when they start, and how long they will work.

The Minister can't just pick anyone. They have to choose people who know a lot about the job and can help the board do its work well.
