The Governor-General makes this appointment after the House of Representatives recommends someone. You are part of a community that is affected by the decisions of the Authority. The appointment happens according to the rules, even if other laws like clause 1(2) of Schedule 5 of the Crown Entities Act 2004 say something different. The chairperson has an important role in the Authority. You can learn more about the Authority and its work. The rules for appointing a chairperson are clear and straightforward.
