Illustration for Independent Police Conduct Authority Act 1988

You can be removed or suspended from being a member of the Independent Police Conduct Authority. If you are a Judge, section 42 of the Crown Entities Act 2004 applies to you. The Governor-General can remove you if the House of Representatives asks them to, but only for a good reason. You might be wondering what a good reason is. A good reason is what section 40 of the Crown Entities Act 2004 says it is. This rule does not apply if you are a Judge. Some rules do not apply to members of the Independent Police Conduct Authority. For example, section 39(1) of the Crown Entities Act 2004 does not apply to you. This means that some things that would normally happen do not happen when you are a member of the Authority.
