Charitable Trusts Act 1957

Schemes in respect of charitable funds raised by voluntary contribution

44: Subsequent advertisement or notice of other newly proposed purpose

You could also call this:

“Telling people about new ideas for using charity money before a meeting”

If you have given money to a charity and there’s a meeting planned to discuss how to use the money, you can suggest a different idea. You need to tell everyone about your new idea before the meeting happens. You can do this by putting a notice in the same newspaper where the first announcement about the meeting was made. You need to do this at least three times before the meeting day. Or, you can tell people about your idea in the same way that was used to announce the meeting. In your notice, you must clearly explain your new idea for how to use the money or how to manage the charity. This could be different from what was originally planned. You need to give all the details of your idea in the notice.
