The Director of Proceedings has some important jobs. You need to know what they do. The Director decides whether to take someone to court under section 50, or to start disciplinary proceedings, or to do both, when a complaint is made about someone or when an investigation is done about someone.

The Director also decides whether to take actions mentioned in section 47. If the Director thinks court proceedings or actions should happen, they start the court case or take the action.

The Director gets referrals from the Commissioner, as stated in section 45(2)(f), to make these decisions.
