You also cannot use a name that is very similar to these names. You cannot trade or do business under these names unless you are the department. 60Protection of names

  1. No person may, except with the consent of the Governor-General in Council, be incorporated or registered under another enactment or in another manner under the following names:

  2. Archives New Zealand (Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga):

        1. National Archives:
          1. Te Whare Tohu Tuhituhinga o Aotearoa:
            1. another name that so resembles the names in any of paragraphs (a) to (e) as to be likely to mislead a person.
              1. No person other than the department may, either alone or with another person, trade or carry on business or exercise the functions for which it was formed—

              2. under a name specified in subsection (1); or
                1. under a name that so resembles a name specified in that subsection as to be likely to mislead a person.
