The chief executives of the children's agencies must work together to review the oranga tamariki action plan within a certain time. This happens if the strategy under section 6 changes or if the plan Minister tells them to. You need to know that the plan Minister is in charge of making sure the plan is working.

When the chief executives review the plan, they must think about whether it still fits with the current strategy under section 6. If they think it is a good idea, they can suggest to the plan Minister that they make some changes to the plan or create a new one. The chief executives can recommend that the plan Minister approve amendments to the plan or approve a new plan.

Some other parts of the law, like sections 8(2) and (3) and 8A, also apply to the review of the oranga tamariki action plan, but with some changes to make them fit.
