66Announcement of finding and sentence
The Judge must announce in open court—
- the finding of the Court Martial on each charge tried by the court; and
- any sentence passed by the court.
The Judge must give reasons for the sentence (if any) passed by the court.
Subsection (4) applies if the Court Martial sentences a person—
- to be dismissed from His Majesty's service; or
- to a term of imprisonment involving dismissal from His Majesty's service.
In delivering a sentence, the Judge must state that the dismissal does not take effect—
- until the expiration of the period for lodging an appeal to the Court Martial Appeal Court against the conviction or sentence; or
- if an appeal to that court, the Court of Appeal, or the Supreme Court is pending, until the appeal is determined.
