Dispute resolution - Approval of dispute resolution schemes - Approval of dispute resolution schemes

53: Minister must decide application for approval

You could also call this:

“Minister decides if a complaint-handling system can be used”

When someone asks for approval of a dispute resolution scheme, the Minister has to decide whether to approve or reject it. This is based on an application made under section 51. Before making this decision, the Minister must talk to two other important people: the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Commerce. The Minister can’t make the decision without first discussing it with these two other Ministers.
