44B: FMA acts as licensing authority in relation to operators of financial product markets

You could also call this:

“FMA oversees licensing for people who run financial markets”

This section talks about how the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) is in charge of certain things for people who run financial product markets. If you run a financial product market that has a licence under Part 5 of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, this applies to you.

When you see the words “licensing authority” in sections 15 to 22, 27, and 29 of this law, it means the FMA. The FMA is responsible for handling matters related to licensing for these financial product market operators.
