Illustration for Impounding Act 1955

If you are a poundkeeper, you can get in trouble if you do certain things. You can be fined up to $500 if you illegally impound animals, or help someone else do it. You can also be fined if you buy animals that have been impounded and are being sold by your employer, or if you charge people fees that you are not allowed to charge. If you lose animals in your care because you were careless, or if you use them for something you are not supposed to, you can be fined up to $100. You can also be fined if you do not keep proper records, or if you break any other rules that you are supposed to follow as a poundkeeper. You have to follow the rules and do your job properly, or you might get in trouble and have to pay a fine, as stated in the Impounding Act 1955, which was amended by the Criminal Procedure Act 2011.
