8Functions of Inspector-General

  1. The functions of the Inspector-General are—

  2. to investigate—(the investigation function):
    1. incidents that have occurred in the course of activities of the Defence Force; and
      1. any subsequent acts or omissions of the Defence Force in relation to those incidents
      2. to assess, and identify potential improvements or additions to, Defence Force policies and procedures governing activities of the Defence Force (the assessment function):
        1. any other function conferred on the Inspector-General by this Act or by any other legislation or rule of law.
