Part 4Inspector-General’s powers to obtain information and assistance
Disclosure of confidential material
33Disclosure may be required despite obligation of secrecy
A requirement under this Act to provide information, a document, or another thing to the Inspector-General overrides any obligation (under legislation or otherwise) of non-disclosure or secrecy and, accordingly,—
- the person subject to the requirement must comply with it; and
- compliance with the requirement is not to be treated as a breach of the obligation of non-disclosure or secrecy or of any legislation by which the obligation is imposed.
This section is subject to section 40.
