You need to know what happens after the Inspector-General makes a report. The Chief of Defence Force gets a recommendation from the Inspector-General under section 19. They tell the Minister, the Inspector-General, and the Secretary of Defence what they plan to do. The Chief of Defence Force must explain why they do not want to follow the recommendation. The Inspector-General can share information about how the Defence Force is doing with a recommendation from a report under section 19. They have a website where they can put this information. The Inspector-General cannot share information if it is secret or sensitive. They can tell the Minister if the Defence Force is doing enough to fix problems after an investigation.
