When the Authority makes a decision about the salaries and allowances of members of the House of Representatives, you will know about it. The Authority gives a copy of the decision to the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the leader of the official Opposition, and the Chief Executive of the Parliamentary Service. The Authority also publishes the decision in the Gazette within 14 days of giving it to the Prime Minister. You can find more information about this in section 71(5) of the Parliament Act 2025, which says that a determination under section 71 of that Act is secondary legislation, and see Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for publication requirements.
