Illustration for Remuneration Authority Act 1977

If you are a member of the Authority, you are not personally responsible for things the Authority does or does not do, as long as they are done in good faith. The Authority has certain powers and authorities that it must follow, and if it does these things correctly, you will not be held personally liable. You can find more information about changes to this rule in the Remuneration Authority (Members of Parliament) Amendment Act 2002.
